Greek Involvement/Timing

Fraternities and sororities have been a tradition at Moravian College for close to 100 years. More than 20% of students are members of one of the College's four national sororities, three national fraternities, or one local fraternity. Members of the Greek community are involved in various aspects of campus life and hold numerous leadership positions on athletic teams, student government, honor societies, and student organizations.

Full-time students who have completed at least one semester of college and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 are strongly encouraged and welcome to participate in fraternity or sorority recruitment. Individual organizations may have a higher academic expectation for membership.

Primary recruitment will begin in late January and is the first opportunity for first-year students to join a fraternity or sorority. Fraternity recruitment will be held January 26 - February 1 and sorority recruitment will be January 27 - February 2 with significant time commitments the weekend of January 31 - February 2.

Navigating Alcohol and Drug Use in College

It is no secret that many college students, including those at Moravian, are exposed to alcohol and/or drugs during their college years. In fact, according to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, adults between the ages of 18-25 engage in higher rates of alcohol use in general, binge drinking, (defined as 5 or more drinks for males or 4 or more drinks for females within a short period of time) and heavy alcohol use (defined as binge drinking on 5 or more days in the past 30 days) than any other age group.

Career & Civic Engagement

Career Connections Externship Program

Encourage your student to complete an externship over winter break! The Moravian College Career Connections Externship Program is designed to allow students observational experiences with a professional at their place of work while experiencing a “day in the life” in the host’s career. Externships are meant to help students gain an understanding of the daily responsibilities within specific careers/industries. Interested students must apply through AMOS by November 14th. Please contact the Center for Career and Civic Engagement (careercivic@moravian.edu) with any questions.
