MORAVIAN’S BRENDAN CLOSE NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Junior pitcher Brendan Close (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Close improved to 4-0 on the season with a three-hit shutout of Juniata College.  Close tied the school record with his 16th career win in the 3-0 victory, and he allowed just one walk while striking out 11 batters.

The Greyhounds, 10-4 overall and 3-0 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 22nd in a non-conference game versus The College of New Jersey beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
